Models
Factory uses language models to investigate issues, plan changes, write code, and review pull requests. Connect a provider, then choose a model your account can use. Model access depends on your provider account.
Connect a provider
Before saving provider credentials, configure stored credential encryption on the server.
In onboarding, select a supported provider sign-in flow or supply an API key. For later changes, open Settings → Models and use the provider access controls. Complete sign-in in the provider's browser flow and return to Factory.
Choose the credential scope and model
| Scope | Who can use it |
|---|---|
| Personal | The user who saved or connected the credential. Teammates need their own access unless an organization credential covers them. |
| Organization | Users covered by the organization's configured provider access. Only authorized administrators can manage organization credentials. |
Choose the default model for tasks on your Factory's boards. When checking a run, confirm that its session uses the expected model and that the provider is connected.
To use a custom endpoint, add its URL and credentials in the custom provider settings. Store credentials in Factory's credential settings or on the server. Don't include them in issues or repository instruction files.
